I had no idea this was possible. It checks out as true on Snopes. I am AMAZED. Speechless really. I'm pretty sure you can say you saw it here first. LOL Watch...

<lj-embed id="1" />

Thanks Heath Ledger

Wow, the weight of Heath Ledger's death sometimes still sneaks up on me. It is really odd that a celebrity's death would have much, if any, practical effect on me.

I suspect the weight I really feel is his character in Brokeback Mountain moving me again. His incredible work on that film alone... is profound enough to be worth my pause.

I can't do it in person, so consider this my thanks.

Tired and ugh...

Ohhhhh wow... I am tired and ugh beyond belief today. I now question my decision to drink several ounces of tequila on a Thursday night.

(The last several Thursdays to come around have felt like Fridays to me. Am I the only one experiencing this?)

I did have a good time though. Guess I must still have that reckless gene in me somewhere.

Snowman for Mom...

Sitting, listening to Leslie Feist croonin', air-conditioning off in my apartment, cooked some dinner a bit ago, still kind of hot, waiting on some cool air to come in tonight...

Last night I finished this for mí madré. (I know it's out of season.) She wanted something with the American flag, and her favorite thing in the whole wide world: a cute snowman.

Snowman for Mom
Vector, 2007

September Already...

I graduated from college in 2002, and thus have had 5 years since the last time I was in school. So why do I still feel that familiar push (without fail) at the beginning of this month? It's known for being a time of year I begin a lot of projects, or so I've noticed.

At the beginning of last month I started going for morning walks with my gal pal Sally on Tuesdays, Thursdays and now Fridays. I am to the point where I look forward to them as days I know I will feel great. When I walk in the morning it makes the whole rest of the day easier and I feel way more centered. They make me feel great.

I am also going to be bowling every Wednesday evening, starting this week. I joined a very casual league with my friend Kim and I am really excited to start! It will be good to play and a good time.

I am looking forward to fall and it feels all the closer now that it's September.

I took a cat nap the other day and up popped the idea for a self portrait... so I went for it. I've been saying a lot that this year seems very "purple" to me. I don't know what that means, but I think purple is a beautiful color.
